Scaling of the critical temperature and the quark potential with a renormalization group improved SU ( 3 ) gauge action ∗

چکیده
We study the scaling property of the ratio of the critical temperature Tc to the square root of the string tension σ in the SU(3) pure gauge theory using a renormalization group (RG) improved action. We first determine the critical coupling βc on lattices with temporal extension Nt = 4 and 6, and then calculate the static quark potential at the critical couplings on lattices at zero temperature. The values of Tc/ √ σ in the infinite volume limit are identical within errors, while they are slightly larger than the value extrapolated to the continuum limit with the standard action. We also note that the rotational invariance of the static quark potential is remarkably restored in the both cases, and that the potential V (R) in physical units scales in the whole region of R investigated.

We investigate the finite-temperature phase structure and the scaling of the chiral condensate in lattice QCD with two degenerate light quarks, using a renormalization group improved gauge action and the Wilson quark action. We obtain a phase diagram which is consistent with that from the parity-flavor breaking scenario. The scaling relation for the chiral condensate assuming the critical expon...

We present a new parametrization of a SU(3) fixed point (FP) gauge action using smeared (”fat”) gauge links. We report on the scaling behaviour of the FP action on coarse lattices by means of the static quark-antiquark potential, the hadronic scale r0, the string tension σ and the critical temperature Tc of the deconfining phase transition. In addition, we investigate the low lying glueball mas...

A comprehensive analysis of tadpole-improved SU(2) lattice gauge theory is made. Simulations are done on isotropic and anisotropic lattices, with and without improvement. Two tadpole renormalization schemes are employed, one using average plaquettes, the other using mean links in Landau gauge. Simulations are done with spatial lattice spacings as in the range of about 0.1– 0.4 fm. Results are p...
